The young supermodel made an announcement on her Twitter page last Thursday that she wouldn’t be able to make it to Shanghai, China for the show. Specifically, she posted “I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year! 🙂 x.” Roumour has it that it might have been a problem with her visa issue. Moreover, other have speculated that her last-minute absence may have to do with an insensitive Snapchat video she posted earlier this year in which she appeared to be mocking Asian facial features. Gigi apologized immediately on Chinese website Weibo. However, she received many negative responses on social media about heading to China for the show.
No matter the reason, we hope she will participate next year. Don’t miss this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on November 28 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
