Olympia Le-Tan designs amazing embroidered clutches, that recreate covers of books. They have been spotted on red carpets through Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and Tilda Swinton, among others. She is also a designer of really fabulous and unexpected pieces of clothing. The clutches and bags, though, are really outstanding accessories – and also high quality profile. They are intricately handcrafted in France from red cotton-canvas with a high-shine gold frame, according to Net-a-porter. They are full lined in Liberty-print poplin and really handy is the internal patch pocket to hold cards. Some of the clutches that can be found on the sites are exclusive to each of the stores, as you can see below. They are also limited to only a few editions, like The Lure of Long Beach, for example, a rare volume from 1936 that traces the history of the American island.

16ç Athens Xclusive Designers Week - day 1 (ÄÔ)The 16th Athens Xclusive Designers Week by Coca-Cola light was held on the 24th-27th of October at the Conference Centre of Ethniki. The designers Vasilis Zoulias, Rita Pateroni, Kathy Heyndels, Lila Nova and Loukia Kyriakou for Underground and Apostolos Mitropoulos for Underground presented their new collections on the first day of the AXDW. The second day we saw the presentations of the collections of Join Clothes, Stylianos, Gaffer & Fluf, Somf and Athina Korda. The third day was dedicated to new talents, where 17 designers presented their creations and 3 of them received awards for their collections. AXDW was completed with an impressive finale, with the presentation of designers’, Notis Panayiotou, Spiros Stefanoudakis, Celebrity Skin, Valtadoros and Panos Apergis, collections for Spring/Summer 2015.

Our favorite was Vasilis Zoulias whose creations were like an elegant journey through time. Bold colors, large prints, psychedelic patterns and stripes in subversive combinations, were the key elements of his collection (first photo). Let’s see, the Spring Summer 2015 collections of the designers for the 16th Athens Xclusive Designers Week.

When we think of Ferragamo, we think of shoes, mainly. The brand certainly has carved its name with excellent quality shoes, bags, scarves and more. But Ferragamo is also a synonym of hospitality – Salvatore Ferragamo founded a chain of hotels in Italy, where you will feel really special!

There are times when we choose our outfit and think “and what about a jacket? Which one now?” Well, at least it happens to me sometimes, so it’s just my opinion… For these occasions, I think of the “jacket of the moment”, it means, the Box Jacket. It’s unpretentious, with its uncomplicated elegance, timeless in fact. Now, re-styled to reach a more modern look, it comes with beautiful details, trimmings and new fabric textures. As October is the month chosen for the awareness of breast cancer through the color pink, it’s our turn to show something positive about it.

More than 5 years ago, Carolina Herrera and her daughter Carolina Herrera de Baez created Support with a Smile, a project meant to raise funds and give emotional support to women with breast cancer. It also deals with promoting the culture of prevention, as Carolina herself is the  ambassador for the American Cancer Society since 2009. The donations received from CHPink campaigns give support to women fighting breast cancer in Latin America, the Middle East and South Africa.

Working for more than 25 years together, the Dutch fashion photographer duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have changed the world of fashion photography. They’ve collected many awards and their artworks can be seen in both  private and museum collections. There’s also a book about their work called “Pretty Much Everything”.

PFW Spring 2015 Ready to wear FeaturedAnd we’ve finally reached the end of Paris Fashion Week, and the end of the fashion month. I’m happy to report that the last day was a nice surprise to an otherwise, not very interesting fashion week, despite the well-known designers that it included. For me the highlight of the day were the bright & ethereal creations of Rahul Mishra, followed by Miu Miu and Masha Ma for their feminine lines and the abundance of pencil skirts. I was also a fan of Hermes’, Louis Vuitton’s and Moncler Gamme Rouge’s collections, for their mostly clean and minimal lines, and interesting designs.

PFW RTW Spring 2015 Day 8 featuredParis Fashion Week has almost come to an end (it ends today), and we’re finally ready to wave this fashion month goodbye, because even though we didn’t go to the actual shows, even covering them from the comfort of our houses, was not an easy job. So don’t get me wrong, but I feel a bit relieved for that fact. I was eagerly waiting for day 8 to come, because I wanted to see the shows of Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen. While Valentino had some really nice pieces in this collection, I wasn’t that impressed with the other two. I loved the idea of Chanel Boulevard, and how everything was presented, but I didn’t like the actual collection that much. I think Chanel left their usual classic feminine chic image behind, and did something different with their last 2 collections. More colors, more prints, and a lot of sporty chic again! Sporty chic was definitely a trend we saw in many collections this season, so it’s definitely going to be big again this spring. My favorites of the day were: Valentin Yudashkin for his dreamy, and feminine creations, and Shiatzy Chen. Which were your favorites of the day?
