1205 Spring Summer 2015

1205 Spring Summer 2015

We already saw, on Day 1, that white color is going to be a big trend for the next spring and summer. Day 2 confirmed that, as many designers showed us in their collection at least one white creation like Whistles, Emilia Wickstead and Holly Fulton. Julien Macdonald’s designs stole my heart with their geometric patterns and Marchesa’s ones for their floral character. Orla Kiely showed the most beautiful and girly collection which I wish I could see live. But style is a matter of personal taste, so let’s see what was presented that day.

Amanda Wakeley Spring Summer 2015

London Fashion Week started on September 12th and we were all excepting it impatiently because this is the first European Fashion Week of this season. It was a good start but I hope that the upcoming days will keep the same standards. Most of the outfits were dark colored like those of Jean Pierre Braganza and Daks. The first one’s are special for their originality while always keeping a strict style, while the second one’s for being lighter. However, some light colorful patterns were not absent, as we saw on Felder Felder’s and Paul Costelloe’s. In my opinion, that day’s peak was Amanda Wakeley’s series in romantic white hues. Take a look at what was presented on the first day.

NYFW Day 8 - featuredNew York Fashion Week is nearly over and I was very pleased to cover Day 8 – to be able to talk about one of my ever favorite designers, Marc Jacobs. I took a look at the below shown designers and must confess I was very puzzled by some very eclectic collections – it’s good to be that way, but sometimes it’s too eclectic, if I can state so. Some of the collections looked like as designed by different people, in my opinion. Marc Jacobs didn’t really “shake” me this time, but I liked the outfits with big pockets, military design and mix of colors and fabrics. Clover Canyon, being quirky, really got me – it was difficult for me to choose only 4 looks to post here. I would wear most of them – and the T-shirts can be worn by both men and women. And J. Mendel really turned to be one of my favorite designers now – so feminine, so chic, the perfect balance using colors! Same goes to Ralph Lauren and Juan Carlos Obando. Erin Fetherston brought feminine looks as well, but not in a very cohesive way to me. Hope you like Day 8 and share with us your opinions about it!

nyfw-day-7The New York fashion week is coming to an end, but the interest grows. On the seventh day of events people were talking about the women’s Boss suits by Jason Wu, the feminine notes of Oscar de la Renta looks, the romantic collection full of navy blue and stripes by Michael Kors and the couture-like feeling of Delpozo. Shirts combined with skirts is the trend promoted by the designers for spring 2015. Finally, we all know that pastels and florals will surely be back for spring as you can see below :

Day 6 Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear- featuredOn day 6 we saw many nice designs that stood out, and some not-so-nice ones as it was expected. We don’t all have the same taste, so what I liked may not necessarily be something you’d like too. But I’ll tell you my favorites of the day, anyway: Badgley Mischka, Naeem Khan, Pamella Roland, Polo Ralph Lauren, Reem Acra and Timo Weiland. And my least favorites were: Thom Browne, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Take a look to find out yours.

Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear featuredWe’re somewhere in the middle of the NYFW and we still have so many designer houses to see. From day 5 my favorite designers are Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera and Lela Rose. I simply loved most of their designs. On the other side, always in my opinion, we have The Row and Tommy Hilfiger. The awkward posing award goes to the models of Co and Rosetta Getty (what’s up with that? I wonder!). Let us know which your favorite designers of Day 5 were simply by leaving a comment below.

Brandon Sun Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear

Days are passing by and we are all impatient to see what is going to happen in this year’s NYFW. We are already on Day 4 and I saw some amazing collections and some that were not that close to my personal style but still worthy of paying attention to. Above all, I was waiting for Victoria Beckham’s creations which I really loved. The key was in their details and especially in the colorful leather belts, that matched the coats and jackets. Moreover, I saw many beautiful creations by Giulietta with the perfect royal blue color and Brandon Sun’s strict patterns and colorful combinations. Enough said though; let’s see my favorites from that day.

NYFW Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear Day 3 - FeaturedI was expecting Day 3 of New York Fashion Week to be as awesome as Day 2, if not more, and I was disappointed, to say the least. I saw photos of tens of designer houses and hundreds of designs and to me, most of them were mediocre at best. So much that I really struggled to pick some favorite pieces of those houses. But a few of them really shined among the 21 houses I’m showing you today. These were: Christian Siriano (by far my most favorite from day 3), Nonoo, Rebecca Taylor and Monique Lhuillier. But everyone’s entitled to his own opinion, so take a look at the photos and the collections to make up your own.

Spring 2015 Ready-to-wear NYFW day 2Day 2 of the New York Fashion Week had, in my opinion, far more interesting looks to show than Day 1. As expected, we saw everything, from bright colors, prints, and pastels, to darker ones. And from girly and ethereal looks to more minimal ones. I liked many pieces from different houses, like Cushnie et Ochs, Adam Selman, Kate Spade New York and Tess Giberson but the blue/black pieces of Jason Wu really stole my heart. Once again, I picked my favorite ones from each house and I’m presenting them to you below.

NYFW Day 1 Spring 2015 ready to wearNew York Fashion Week has officially started, and how we wish we could be there! It’s not only about the shows and getting to see the new designs first-hand; it’s about the experience, and getting to be at the center of everything, and meeting new interesting people from the fashion and blogging world. Thankfully, there are a lot of sites out there to cover the fashion weeks nowadays, which provide you with high quality photos and (even) live-streaming of the shows, that it feels like you’re there. So, we searched through all the runway photos and picked our favorite pieces from NYFW’s Day 1. Our favorite show was the one of Marissa Webb (something you’ll notice from the photos). Enjoy!
