Gucci logo tee 2018 updateGucci’s iconic logo tee is getting an update for 2018. So far, the tee featured the logo, framed with the famous stripes, and the brand’s name on top of it. Now the new logo tee includes two tigers on the left and right, holding the brand name. Gucci has proved how much they love the tiger motif over the past few years, and it seems that this trend is going to stick for at least a few more years. The tee is from a cotton-jersey material and has an oversized fit, making it ideal for your everyday outfits. As you can guess though, it’s not your basic inexpensive everyday tee, since it costs around 370pounds, so it’s definitely not cheap. But if you love it, you can find it and shop for it on the widget below!

Gucci is going fur-free from 2018Just a few days ago, it was announced that the house of Gucci, has decided to go fur-free, from 2018 and on. Gucci used to use fur a lot in the past, but the new decision is part of the brand’s new 10-year ‘Culture of Purpose’ sustainability plan. The brand also made a commitment to contribute one million euros to UNICEF’s Girls’ Empowerment Initiative. Gucci’s CEO Marco Bizzarri made an official statement about this decision: “Gucci will no longer use, promote or publicize animal fur, beginning with its Spring/Summer 2018 collection. As a commitment and thanks to a long-term partnership with LAV and The Humane Society, Gucci joins the Fur Free Alliance, which focuses on the deprivation and cruelty suffered by fur-bearing animals both in wild trapping and industrial fur farming.”. LAV is an Italian animal rights organization, and these are very good news. All remaining items with real fur on Gucci’s website, will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go towards LAV and The Humane Society. Gucci is not the first house to ban fur from their collections, since Armani, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, were some of the first to do it before them.

Gucci Cruise 2018 campaignThe newest Gucci Cruise 2018 is called The Roman Rhapsody, and it features portraits of real people (non-models) in apartments and and neighborhood parks throughout Rome. That’s where the campaign takes its name from. It features people that are not models in real life, such as a Gucci Rome shop assistant, the owner of one of Rome’s best-known Chinese restaurants, an advertising executive, Italian actress Miriam Leone, and an Italian singer-songwriter. The collection is shot by the iconic British photographer Mick Rock. See the whole campaign here.

Gucci Cruise 2017 embroidered light blue catwalk

I recently saw a picture of a Gucci bag from the Cruise 2017 collection and suddenly I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Of course I could only make it mine in my dreams, because it costs an arm and a leg, but let’s dream that we have an endless flow of cash. What would you do with it, apart from the usual necessities? I wouldn’t mind giving some of that cash for one of the bags below, with my first choice being the light blue embroidered number you can see in the first photo. Isn’t she a beauty? But all these bags below wouldn’t go unnoticed either. Definitely not… So which one would be YOUR choice for spring/summer 2017?

Jared Leto in the Gucci Guilty campaignJared Leto stars in the Gucci campaign for its new fragrance called Guilty. Leto replaced Chris Evans and Evan Rachel Wood who have previously starred in Gucci’s campaigns. The campaign was shot in Venice by director Glen Luchford and the models alongside Jared Leto, are Julia Hafstrom and Vera Van Erp. The campaign appears to be a “liberated expression of sexuality”, as the brand describes it. The 2 versions of the Guilty fragrance, Gucci Guilty Pour Femme and Gucci Guilty Pour Homme, both break gender expectations. Gucci Guilty Pour Femme is a mix of sweet lilac with geranium, a note usually used in men’s colognes, while Gucci Guilty Pour Homme a blend of lemon, lavender and patchouli, but also orange blossom, an ingredient typically used in female fragrances.

Gucci‘s new front man, Alessandro Michele is very different to Frida Giannini (his predecessor) and his show venue showed that. Brick walls and Moroccan rugs were seen, different to Giannini’s glossed shows. Michele’s warehouse show closed off West 22nd Street in Manhattan, so it was a grand happening, despite the rustic environment.
